Bambus Garten

Well there is nothing like ordering chinese food from some chinese people with a german accent. Anyhow we have found some pretty decent chinese food here in germany at the bambus garten, it is right outside of Vogelwey.

Golf Tournament and German Barbeque

Here is a picture of Jack and our landlord Peter. He won some french wine at our tenants barbeque and golf tournament. It was fun but the germans don't know what "well done" means when cooking steaks and hamburgers. So always go with the bratwurst.

Landstul

Here are some pictures of Tara and I in a park in Landstul. It is right by our german doctors office. There is also a lot of shopping that you can walk to. Also my german beauty shop is across the street. I love the german beauty shop they do such a good job. The american ones seem so crappy now. My favorite clothing store in Landstul is Charles Vogele they sell clothes from Sweden. There is also a really good ice cream place called Dolomite you can sit outside on the patio and eat.

German Driver's License

Here I am after a grueling 2 hour test, holding my temperary german driver's license. I got my permanant one yesterday in the mail and it reminded me that I haven't posted the pictures yet.

Here is the clock tower at kleber koncerne. We ate lunch at the clock tower cafe.

Here is Tara eating a german breakfast.

German breakfast bratwurst, and eggs. They also use this kind of bratwurst in their barbeques. They put sticks through them and grill them.

Onion Jar

Here is a zwiebeln jar that I bought at a flohmarket. Right now at almost all the backeries (bakeries) they sell an onion bread and neau wein (new wine). This wine has not been bottled yet and comes in a plastic container. You have to drink it right away or it will spoil.

Garlic Jar

I got this cute garlic jar at one of the german flohmarkets (flea market). I think I paid 2 euro for it. I will use it to store my knoblauchtopf. Tomorrow I will be going to France on a bus tour. I have made it to Belguim so this will be the third country I have visited in Europe. Jack is in the Nederlands working. So he will miss out on France. Gutentag

Turkish Cabinet

Here is a picture of a cabinet set that I bought from some Turks that were leaving Germany and moving back to Istanbul. You can also see our cool German fireplace. All the Germans that have been over here say it is a really good heating unit. We also have heated floors so hopefully I won't be cold this winter.

Kokonuss Palmin

Here is the cute plant that I bought at a store called Praktiker. This store is like Home Depo only German. It's a coconut palm and it's growing out of a coconut. I have never seen one before so I had to buy one. It was only 6.99 Euro. But then I had to buy the nice pot and saucer to go with it, so I think it ended up being like 20.00 Euro.

Things I Have Never Seen Before

This is a picture of one of our toliets or toilieten as they are called here. This is from the small bathroom in the entryway of the house. The other picture is the flusher. Not like the ones from the states. The large button is for a big flush as in a number two flush. The little button is for a small flush or just a potty flush. This bathroom also has a urinal. I didn't take a picture of that . I won't even clean that because I don't use it. You can't see it that well but above the toilieten papier is a little box for the wet wipes. Pretty good idea if you ask me.

Pictures of the back of the house

This is kind of crappy picture of the patio. We have three doors that open to walk out of the house to the patio, which is nice and it is covered so you can stand to sit out there during the day.
This is one of the fenced portions of the backyard. This is where the dogs can go outside and it is hooked to the patio. If you look down the fence line you can see where the yard extends. This is another picture of the front of the house. I don't know why I uploaded it. But I don't know how to delete it.

This is a picture of the front yard looking to the backyard. We have lavender planted all along the front of the house. It is really pretty and smells good. There are so many flower over here. I have never seen people put so many flowers in the yards and window boxes. I will try and take some pictures of the pretty yards around our village.

Pictures of the house we are living in

Here is the front of our house on 20 Spesbacher Strasse in Katzenbach on the edge of Hutschenhausen. Yes it is orange. Orange and Red are really popular colors in Germany.
